Competitions
The local competitions in 2011 offered categories to involve community groups, businesses, retailers, school children, allotments and residential gardens.
Horsham in Bloom tries to appreciate different levels of capability and local judges are carefully chosen, with at least one for each competition being selected for their professional expertise.
Despite the drought in spring, Horsham gardens and allotments flourished well and Horsham in Bloom is pleased to announce the winners of the 2011 competitions.

S & SE in Bloom competition
Horsham has a fine record of achievement in the regional South and South-East in Bloom Competition, sponsored by Southern Water.
In the last nine years, seven Gold Awards have been presented and that followed on from winning three in three years!

Britain in Bloom
Apart from gaining the prestigious Gold Award in 2007, Horsham has had the honour of being selected to represent the South East Region on four previous occasions. The first time, in 1999, Horsham won the overall trophy for environmental excellence.

Nations in Bloom
In 2001, the town was selected to take part in the International ‘in Bloom’ competition and the final took place at Shenzhen, China.
Horsham was the only town in the world to win two awards: second in the Population category and overall Best Landscaping Trophy.
This was a milestone in Horsham’s history and the team came home inspired to know that the town’s environmental commitment was worthy of being acknowledged in a field of international competitors.

No national or regional competitions were entered. In preparation for the 2008 finals, specialist judges for Britain in Bloom visited Horsham.
