a winning garden

This year, four competitions took place:

  • Best Allotment Competition
  • Best Summer Front Garden (which includes a category for the most eye-catching basket or container)
  • Community Services Floral Display Competition
  • Best Public House Competition
Judging took place during the week commencing Monday 19th July and HiB is pleased to announce
the results.

Prizes were presented at Rookwood Golf Club on 2nd September and a report is on this page.

Judges in Museum garden



The two judges, Martyn Hird and Barry Newman, being shown round the garden at the Museum on 12th July.
The results will be announced on Friday, September 10th and we hope that Horsham has been successful again.
(Fingers crossed!)




During a presentation by representatives of HiB and Horsham District Council, the judges of South/South East in Bloom were told of our belief in the importance of working together to achieve what communities need, and how sustainable outcomes are important not only to horticultural projects, but to communities as a whole.

Anne Bellringer, Chair of Horsham in Bloom, explained that our entry this year was confined to the town centre because Horsham in Bloom is determined to do everything possible to support the business economy of Horsham. It is vitally important to keep the town centre vibrant and alive, especially in recessionary times when trading is that much more difficult.
