Volunteers
Volunteer groups undertake a variety of tasks in the town, many of which wouldn't be able to be done, or not as regularly, without their involvement.

Hills Farm Conservation Group, for instance, looks after the length of the Horsham Riverside Walk along Hills Farm Lane from Guildford Road to the river banks behind Ridgehurst Drive. This includes the River Arun and its tributary Boldings Brook. The Group has grown from about five original members in the 1990s to 25 members today.

Their aim is to protect and conserve the natural environment and wildlife habitat along the ecologically important river corridor which links Warnham Local Nature Reserve to the north and Chesworth Farm in the south.

The Group meets once a month throughout the year to clear litter and debris from the rivers and the Riverside Walk, plant trees and hedging and monitor the river. Tools and river gear are provided through donations, Horsham in Bloom and Horsham District Council.

Recent work has included planting more than 200 hedging plants to repair gaps in existing hedgerows and to prevent further river bank erosion.

More information and pictures can be seen on the group’s website

North Horsham Volunteers help keep Holbrook tidy by tracking down and bagging litter. The big difference they make to the appearance of streets and open spaces is praised by residents.

They meet at North Heath Hall at 10 am on the first Sunday in each month, and work for a couple of hours.

If you would like to help keep your neighbourhood tidy, just turn up. Tools and gloves are provided.
Recruitment of volunteers
Horsham in Bloom is seeking active volunteers to work with the existing Committee members to maintain our excellent reputation and further our aims and objectives.

A brief volunteer profile and an outline of the activities of the committee members of HiB can be seen here.

If you feel you could help, please e-mail us.

We will contact you to discuss the skills required by Horsham in Bloom and make sure you have the support you might need to be actively involved.
